The ingredients needed to make Carnitas:

  2. Take 2 lbs carnitas pork meat

  8. Take 1 tsp marjoram

Serve with warm, fresh tortillas and salsa. Carnitas can be made various ways. Some cooks add a teaspoon or so of Mexican dried oregano. To change things up, I often use beer in place of a portion of the water.

Steps to make Carnitas:
  1. Step one: rub oil all over pork meat. Then, Mix your dry spices and rub them on the pork meat. Once seasoned, mix orange juice and beef broth together and pour around the the pork meat in a oven dish/pot. Place your onion wedges and leafs around dish/pot. Just like shown in picture.
  2. Step two: this dish may take 2-3 hours depending on your oven. Mine took 2 hours. So pre-heat your oven at 350 f. Bake for 2 hours, check on it. Onced it done, re-bake back in oven uncovered for 15 mins so it can get a crisp on top. Then turn on a skillet medium low heat, add dripping of grease from your pan where you baked carnitas. And pour your carnitas in there. At this point what youre doing is frying them a bit. 5-10 mins tops om frying. Once done you can shred or leave them in chunks. Serve with a green salsa, salt, onion chopped and corn tortillas tacos. And enjoy.
